Overview

The Operations Agent SSD is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day import/export of international shipments, all transport modes, in accordance with customer requests within the Ship Spares Division.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain all details (regulations, certificates, documentation) necessary for shipment quotation and operation to ensure the customer’s request is satisfied;
  • Prepare profitable quotations accurately;
  • Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, subcontractors, and ports to verify loading, departures, and arrivals in a timely manner;
  • Coordinate the day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents;
  • Track and communicate all delays, damages, problems and work to resolve customer issues;
  • Responsible for all aspects of (international) operations such as customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing;
  • Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with various cartage agents and international partners;
  • Partner with local sales and account management teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners, and other stations, as needed;
  • Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met;
  • Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines;
  • Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies;
  • Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations;
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.

Qualifications

  • High motivation and interest for international transport and logistics
  • Associates Degree or equivalent
  • Curious, reliable, problem solver, strong desire for development and competence building
  • Experience or knowledge in dangerous goods handling (IATA DGR) and/or aviation security is an advantage.
  • Fluent oral and written Norwegian and English is a must
  • Required to work hours other than the set shift hours to facilitate the completion of required work or resolve critical issues. Must be available for occasional on-call duty.
  • Ability to work flexible hours either in the office or remotely as required
